Someone’s seen the new Matrix movie! Watch out, Neo and Trinity, because Hailey Bieber’s sharp leather coat looks ready to dodge some bullets in style.
Stars dressing like they belong in the Matrix movies was a huge trend a few years ago. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all stepped out in futuristic, head-to-toe black outfits—always complete with a fabulous leather coat, a signature piece from the film. Bieber’s newest take on the outerwear, courtesy of Magda Butrym, was slightly revised for 2022. Its elongated shape and extra-big shoulder pads are modern and fresh. (Labels like Balenciaga, Prada, and Alexander McQueen have all shown similar styles on the catwalk.)
Paired with a silky red top, textured black trousers, and Reformation square-toe boots, Bieber’s action figure gear looks like it could belong on a current-season runway and in a virtual reality world filled with bad guys. If the Matrix 5 ever happens, director Lana Wachowski should audition Bieber for a role. She already has the wardrobe!
