Two people are dead following separate weekend crashes in the Upstate. The first fatal wreck happened around 10 PM Saturday night, on Gregg Shoals Road in Anderson County, about 9 miles south of Iva. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver was heading eastbound, when they ran off the road and hit a tree. The driver died at the scene of the crash.

The second collision happened just after 12 AM Sunday on Holland Ford Road in Greenville County, about 6 miles South of Piedmont. The Highway Patrol says the driver of a moped was heading east when they hit a deer. The victim was ejected from the moped and died at the scene. Neither victim has been identified as of the time of this report.
