It didn’t take John Rhys Plumlee very long to find his next college football home.

On Sunday morning, the former Ole Miss quarterback and wide receiver announced that he would transfer to UCF. Plumlee announced a week ago that he would be transferring from Ole Miss, and now, he’s headed to Orlando to join Gus Malzahn’s program.

Plumlee announced the news on social media.

In 2021, Plumlee caught 19 passes for 201 yards. He started 8 games at quarterback during the 2019 season, rushing for 1,023 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also threw for more than 900 yards and 4 touchdowns that year.

Plumlee desires to play quarterback in college, and that wasn’t in the plans at Ole Miss. Will Plumlee continue playing baseball for the Knights? That will be one thing to keep an eye on for the Knights, and it looks like that’s his intention by his social media post.

Plumlee will be an interesting fit in Malzahn’s offense.
