English Dub Review: Back Arrow “Do We Head for the Stars?”

Overview

Arrow and friends face their strongest opponent yet in God’s realm. Once the Guardian reveals the ultimate truth of their world, a peaceful resolution seems unlikely…

Our Take

The mystery of something bigger lurking just in the background, that being the purpose of the world wall was something else that kept me wondering and eagerly awaiting the next episode, and the conclusion didn’t disappoint. It arguably resolved everything that required a legit answer, so it’s hard for me to say that it had a bit of a weird twist at the end.

But at the end of the day, I still feel the vast majority of the story was almost hard to follow, but this finale was delivered in spades. Definitely set up a season 2. Idk how many episodes or where they’d go from there, but it’s coming for sure. I enjoyed the ride and did like the characters a lot in this show, but considering the staff behind it, I expected more.

Overall the ending was high-concept and grandiose though nowhere as batshit crazy as Gurren Lagann. At the very least, it compensates by putting its own twist to the story. I am not against shows that end on a note of letting part of the story continue, especially if the main conflicts are already concluded which they did manage to accomplish here, (much in the same way Deca-Dence ended) so I’m satisfied with this as a resolution.
