Science can benefit only its practitioners

DEAR EDITOR:

“Over my dead body I’ll take that shot.”

This approach may very well be the sign of the times. In a 1968 song by Blood, Sweat and Tears, “And when I die,” holds true today.

“And, when I die, and when I’m dead and gone, there’ll be one child born and a world to carry on.”

Those opinionated who refuse to listen may force that truth sooner than later.

The reality of it is that 97 percent of the people in hospitals for COVID-19 are unvaccinated.

The common testimony from the unvaccinated is “We just don’t know what this vaccine will do to us in time.”

“My troubles are many, they’re as deep as a well, I can swear there ain’t no Heaven and pray there ain’t no Hell. But I’ll never know by living, only my dying will tell,” so the song goes.

We all need to heed the next verse.

“Don’t want to go by the Devil, don’t want to go by demand, don’t want to go by Satan, don’t want to die uneasy, just let me go naturally.”

Please get vaccinated.
