Morning Live co-presenter Kym Marsh is heading back to the sofa next month, it's been announced.

This live, topical show was the first major gig she took after departing Coronation Street as Michelle Connor back in 2019, but Marsh's commitment to touring theatre production Fatal Attraction has meant she's been missing in action of late.

She has also been taking some time away from the show following her father's diagnosis of incurable prostate cancer, and earlier over the summer pulled out after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Addressing her imminent return on The One Show yesterday (January 7), the star told Alex Jones and Ronan Keating: "I will be back on Morning Live in February. So I'm very, very excited to continue that. Because we are a family and I've missed it.

"And I've missed Gethin. I never thought I'd say I missed Gethin Jones!"

We'll look forward to it.

Previously shooting down Morning Live's comparisons to ITV stalwart Lorraine, Marsh exclusively told Digital Spy: "In the beginning, everyone was kind of trying to say it was going to be a comparison to Lorraine, and it's a completely different show to Lorraine.

"The way that we do things, and the way that Lorraine's show does things, they're two completely different things. Lorraine is brilliant at what she does, you know?

"I think they've been two very different shows, and it's something that people have welcomed with open arms. It's been really nice," she said.

"The year has been a strange one, but it's been a good one in terms of allowing me to have opportunities that maybe I might not have had before, I think. It's strange, in a way."

Morning Live airs weekdays at 9.15am on BBC One and iPlayer.
