A dog at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue near High Wycombe is looking for his forever home after spending more than 1,000 days in kennels.
As we move into the new year, Billy is looking for a new companion to spend the rest of his life with after having 1,095 days (including January 5) spent in kennels.
The Lurcher Type has been one of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue's longest staying dogs but "has been overlooked since his return" - with "796 of his companions having found new homes in that time."

Billy is around six-years-old and while he is good with dogs, he isn't able to live with them.
The medium sensitive boy is only good with adults, bad with cats and can be left at home alone for up to four hours after building the relationship.
He will also require a fence height of six foot as he gets nervous from new people and places unfamiliar to him and he may try to escape.
A Dog Rescue spokesperson said: "Billy is a sweet boy that finds the world a scary place. He can be very nervous around new people and places unfamiliar to him, but once he gains his confidence with you it doesn’t take him long to show you his sweet and loving nature.
"Billy loves spending time with his handlers and loves nothing more than to receive gentle strokes while leaning into you for comfort. New owners will need to give Billy the time and space to become comfortable in his new environment and to not push him into situations he is uncomfortable with."
Billy is quite the needy boy and will be straight back by your side to make sure you haven't left him.
He will need to wear a muzzle when out in public due to his uncertainty of strangers because of his previous history in the home.
Understanding simple commands such as sit, paw and walk is easy for him from his previous training but he can get a little frustrated and vocal when he is bored of commands in training sessions so it is best to keep them short and sweet.
Billy is a food lover and a food guarder, which means he can get aggressive with other dogs and people when eating.
The Rescue added: "Billy is a very sweet boy who would love his new family to give him the time he needs to gain his confidence in his new home and understand it may take some time for him to fully trust in them. In the right home, Billy will make a wonderful, sweet and affectionate companion."
He will require multiple visits from the entire household ahead of the adoption process.
