"Cowboy Casanova" singer Carrie Underwood gave fans one more major surprise before the New Year and as expected, she did not disappoint.

Carrie really got into the holiday spirit leading up to 2022. From her fun Thanksgiving tune "Stretchy Pants" to her powerful rendition of "Mary, Did You Know?" on the latest CMA Country Christmas, fans really flipped when they saw her surprise performance on Netflix's hit series Cobra Kai.

The American Idol champion takes the stage (in the ninth episode) before a martial arts tournament to perform Survivor's 1984 hit song "The Moment of Truth" to pay homage to the original film's classic soundtrack. Carrie, of course, also shared the moment with fans on Instagram:

Folks quickly ran to the post's comments to share their surprise and delight:

  • "Awesome season!! Loved hearing you sing in it! ❤️❤️"
  • "What an AWESOME surprise!!!! You’re the BEST!!! 😍🔥"
  • "It was awesome seeing you in this show!! Mind blown!❤️🔥"
  • "I love it! 80s girl here and I’m obsessed 😍"

You're probably wondering how this mashup even came to be, right? As it turns out, Carrie's a big fan of the show. In 2020, she tweeted "Just started watching (Cobra Kai) on Netflix. Ummmm...it's kinda awesome! 🐍👍." Obviously, the wheels started turning in the show's writers' heads and the rest is history!

"I grew up watching 'Daniel' and 'Johnny,' and I can't believe I actually get to be a small part of the legacy that is The Karate Kid. Once I discovered Cobra Kai a few years ago, it became one of my favorite shows! I had so much fun being on the set and singing such a classic song. I cannot wait to watch every new episode!" Carrie revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Now, excuse us while we play Carrie's rendition of "The Moment of Truth" on repeat to get us through the new year!
