EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead role of Phil Burbank in "The Power of the Dog," a new film written and directed by Jane Campion that is now streaming on Netflix.

On Spectrum News 1's "The LA Times Envelope Roundtable," Cumberbatch opens up to host Michael Ordona about Campion's latest effort.

"Jane is such an iconic presence in cinematic culture. She's an incredibly powerful woman who's been at the forefront of her game for decades," said Cumberbatch. "And I'd say about this film...Yeah, it's a Jane Campion film, but she's tackling a subject matter which has appeared in her films before, in the sense of toxic masculinity."

The roundtable also features actors Javier Bardem, Peter Dinklage, Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac and Jared Leto. Click the arrow above to see Cumberbatch discuss the film.
