Columbus Police said one person was killed in a shooting Friday night on the city's east side.

Police said the shooting happened at 930 Barnett Road around 7:50 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they located 35-year-old Max McGuffin suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m.

Police have arrested and charged 22-year-old Genghis Shakhan for murder.

This is the fourth homicide in Columbus in 2022.
