• Donnie Wahlberg is renowned for being close to his fans.
  • In celebration of the New Year, he shared a message of love and well-being, which really resonated with his fans.

Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg is looking forward to everything to come in the new year — including seeing his fans.

The New Kids on the Block singer took to Instagram on New Year's to give his followers well wishes and let them know just how much he misses meeting them in person. “Dearest Blockheads, Praying for each and every one of you, and your friends and families, to have the most wonderful New Year,” Donnie captioned an Instagram photo of himself looking into the sunset while flying somewhere. “Miss you terribly but I trust that we will be together soon. ‘Til then, my heart is with you always.”

Donnie isn’t the only one reflecting on the time apart, though. His fans are reeling just as much.

“My prayers for the coming year for you is love, peace, healing, happiness, confetti, and so much BH love❤️🥰 You have our hearts too! Love you,” one fan commented on his post. “I wish the same for you and your family! ❤️ I miss you and am so very grateful I got to see you this year. ☺️ We WILL be together soon,” another fan exclaimed.

Like so many entertainers, Donnie and the other NKOTB members have had to cut back on fan interaction in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. And now, with the Omicron variant spreading at unprecedented rates, it’s difficult to determine when life will truly go back to normal — especially from a mass entertainment space perspective. Until then, Donnie is maintaining an optimistic stance of eternal love, which he spreads readily on his social media pages.
