BoA Responds Why She Have Less Screen Time in GOT The Beat's 'Step Back' Dance Practice Video + Hints at Debut of New Unit

Following fans' complaints, BoA, who re-debuted in SM's project girl group GOT The Beat, personally addressed why she has lesser exposure compared to other members.

On the 6th, "Queen of K-pop" BoA took to her Instagram to explain the lack of her content in the GOT The Beat's "Step Back" dance practice video.

"It's my first time watching the video, too. I couldn't fully participate in the last practice because of a family event. That's why I don't think there's a lot of my screen time," she said.

On her uploaded IG story, the "Better" singer also showed her humble side by adding, "Everyone, don't make weird assumptions and just enjoy watching the content. I was just an event anyway," highlighting her one-time experience with the group.

In particular, the issue was rooted in fans' and internet users' disappointment after seeing that BoA barely appeared in the dance practice video of their single, "Step Back," which was uploaded on January 6.

Immediately after its release on GOT The Beat's official social media accounts, several netters pointed out, "Why is BoA getting less screen time?" "BoA shines the best even when she has few exposures," "It's funny because Zero (Taeyeon's dog) has more appearance in the clip than BoA," and more.

Meanwhile, BoA's statement didn't only get massive attention for her response on the speculations that she was given less exposure, but for her hint on the next GOT unit.

The "No.1" singer specifically wrote," Please look forward to the next GOT (unit)."

As a result, there are K-pop enthusiasts who expressed anticipation over the new lineup that will be introduced by SM Entertainment.
In context, GOT is a project in which female artists from SM Entertainment introduce new combinations of units by theme.

It follows the combined concept of NCT, SuperM, and NCT U, wherein GOT is a group that will have sub-units. Every unit will have different members, and they will be selected according to the song's concept.

"GOT The Beat" is the first unit to where BoA belongs, along with Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation, Seulgi and Wendy of Red Velvet, aespa Karina, and Winter.

On the 3rd, the group made their debut on "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: EXPRESS@KWANGYA," where they first showed the performance of their single, "Step Back."

"Step Back" is a hip-hop R&B song with repeated bass and instrument variations, which also showcased the powerful dance of the members and incredible singing skills.
