5-year-old Teagan Christopherson has wanted a puppy for as long as she could remember.
On Friday, Make-A-Wish made her dream a reality with a Siberian Husky named Bandit.
Make-A-Wish Central New York surprised Teagan in Downtown Syracuse.
When she opened her present, Teagan’s eyes lit up and she squealed “puppy!”
Teagan has been battling Neuroblastoma, cancer in the adrenal glands located in the kidneys, since being diagnosed in May of 2021.
“It's taken her a long time to figure out what she wanted but she fell in love with the therapy dogs at the hospital so she kind of decided that she wanted a puppy,” said Teagan’s mom, Angela Christopherson.
Teagan’s family says it's been a tough few months, but they are looking forward to the comfort Bandit will provide.
“I’m excited to take him for a walk,” said Teagan.
All of Teagan’s favorite things were at the wish reveal, including McDonald’s, frosted donuts, and of course – a puppy.
For now, Teagan tells us she’s just excited to snuggle with Bandit and introduce him to the Husky living next door.
Teagan is now in remission and the Christopherson family is awaiting her port removal soon.
