Betty White will not be laid to rest next to her husband Allen Ludden, despite his name being the last thing she called out before passing away last week.

According to reports, the Golden Girls star won't be buried at Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, like her third husband. Ludden has been buried there since his death in 1981.

Employees at Graceland cemetery told The Sun that a plot next to the late actor is available, but they have not been contacted by Betty's team. Brand new photos show that Ludden's name is the only one etched in the larger-than-life tombstone.

The mayor of Mineral Point had high hopes that Betty's legacy would remain in the tiny town. “Allen Ludden and Betty White is our connection to Hollywood here in Mineral Point," Mayor Jason Basting reportedly said. "For a small town of 2,600 people, it’s pretty neat to have that kind of connection and she’s a legend.”

Vicki Lawrence — who worked alongside Betty on the '80s sitcom Mama’s Family — revealed the news. “I texted Carol [Burnett] and said, ‘This just sucks. I hate this. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,’” she recalled.

“Carol wrote back and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was ‘Allen.’”

Betty's last words touched Lawrence. “How sweet is that? I said, ‘That is so sweet. God, I hope that’s true. For all of us, I really hope it’s true, a lovely thought,’” she told the outlet.

Betty married Ludden in 1963 and they remained together until his death in 1981. He passed away from stomach cancer at just 63 years old.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show actress died just weeks shy of her 100th birthday. She was set to turn triple digits on January 17.

The Los Angeles Police Department was on the scene of her home after receiving a call about her death. Law enforcement told RadarOnline.com, they were investigating to see if any foul play was involved in her passing.
