Julia Fox, she of Uncut Gems and now date night with Kanye “Ye” West fame, has given a little gift to the gossip pages. She told Interview magazine all about her big night(s) out with West over the first week of the year, and provided photographs too.
“I met Ye in Miami on New Year’s Eve and it was an instant connection,” she said. “His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night. We decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see Slave Play. Ye’s flight landed at six and the play was at seven and he was there ON TIME. I was impressed. After the play we chose to do dinner at Carbone which is one of my favorite restaurants. Obviously.”
She said that West “directed” a photoshoot in the restaurant as its patrons cheered, and then postdinner, “Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl’s dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment. I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date! Everything with us has been so organic. I don’t know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I’m loving the ride.”
Fox appeared in The New Yorker’s Talk of the Town over the summer, where she told Naomi Fry, “I used to pray all the time that a guy would come in and take me away, and then it happened. We were together for five years. He wanted me to marry him, and I loved him so much, but he wanted me to wear, like, Ralph Lauren Purple Label and Tory Burch. I felt like I was always playing a part.” So, a room full of clothes for a woman who cares about presentation that she actually likes? Must be nice. (The clothes that West fitted Fox in are from Glenn Martens’s Diesel, the spring/summer 2022 collection, per the brand’s Instagram Stories.)
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has “a source” saying that Pete Davidson has “bonded” with West’s ex Kim Kardashian’s family, from the children to her mother, Kris Jenner. “Kim and Pete are very in sync right now. They’re very in step with each other and the relationship is easy. They’re getting closer and closer and are a really great pair,” this person said. They are “absolutely getting more serious.” These quotes are great, but you know what would be better? Two paragraphs from Davidson on their trip to the Bahamas and whether or not he’s “loving the ride.” \
