Bindi Irwin gets tattoo in dad Steve’s handwriting to honor daughter

Bindi Irwin now has a permanent link between her father and her daughter.

The Australian star, 23, revealed that she got three new tattoos recently, all with very specific and special meanings.

First, she inked the words “graceful warrior” in her late father Steve Irwin’s handwriting.

“The words I spoke to our daughter as I held her for the first time in my arms were, ‘My graceful warrior,'” she wrote on Instagram.

“That’s how her name was born. This is my dad’s handwriting to keep him with me, always.”

Next to the phrase is an illustration of the Australian Zoo’s alligator, Daisy, “to represent our conservation work as Wildlife Warriors.”

And lastly, Irwin honored husband Chandler Powell — with whom she welcomed Grace Warrior Irwin Powell in March 2021, on their first wedding anniversary — with a wreath tattoo circling her left ring finger, calling it her “wedding ring in bloom.”

The trio of designs, she wrote, will serve as “validation every day of the three most important things in my life: family, purpose and unconditional love.”

“Such gorgeous artwork,” commented Powell. “You amaze me every day. Each one is meaningful to mark this special time in our life together. Also, the Florida in me loves the alligator. 🐊 Love you so much.”

Beloved television star Steve Irwin died at age 44 in 2006 after being pierced by a stingray barb, and Bindi has said she feels her late father is Grace’s “guardian angel.”
