'Nightmare Alley' Exclusive Featurette: Guillermo Del Toro Talks Creating A Homme Fatale For His Noir Thriller

It’s undeniable that Bradley Cooper is the star of Guillermo del Toro’sNightmare Alley.” The actor is in nearly every scene and is the driving force for much of the plot of the film. That said, in an ensemble filled with incredible performances, it’s the three women in Cooper’s character’s life that really fill in the details of “Nightmare Alley.”

With “Nightmare Alley” in theaters now and being one of the buzziest films this awards season, we’re thrilled to give our readers an exclusive look at a featurette that illuminates the importance of the women in the film. As pointed out by del Toro in the video below, Bradley Cooper’s Stan Carlisle is really a homme fatale, putting a bit of a spin on the classic noir trope. And because of this, he is profoundly impacted by the women in his life, specifically played by Toni Collette, Rooney Mara, and Cate Blanchett.

For those who haven’t seen the film, “Nightmare Alley” tells the story of Carlisle, a drifter/conman type who finds himself deeply involved in the lives of carnival workers. From there, he’s able to learn some tricks of the trade and propel himself forward, encountering some interesting characters along the way.
