(Fargo, ND) -- Essentia Health will start following new COVID-19 vaccine guidelines laid out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday. This comes as the more transmissible omicron variant grips much of the country.
The CDC has expanded the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to now include single-dose booster shots to those 12-15 years old; shortening the time between the completion of a primary series of the Pfizer vaccine and a booster dose to at least five months for people 12 and older; and allowing for a third primary series dose for certain immunocompromised children ages 5-11.
