WHFF Soy Cubana

“Soy Cubana,” a documentary that follows an all-female a cappella group from Santiago de Cuba, will be available from the Woods Hole Film Festival for home viewing January 13 through January 16.

The Woods Hole Film Festival will continue its virtual season series into 2022 with the feature documentary “Soy Cubana” by Jeremy Ungar and Ivaylo Getov. The film will be available to stream Thursday, January 13 through Sunday, January 16. The festival will host a live online question and answer period with the directors and the producer on Saturday, January 15, at 7 PM.

In 2016, the short film, “Soy Cubana,” screened at the Woods Hole Film Festival and had a successful festival run. Following the short’s success, the Vocal Vidas, an all-female a cappella group from Santiago de Cuba, the cradle of Afro-Cuban music, were invited to perform in the United States for the very first time.
