Country superstar Miranda Lambert will return to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on April 27, according to Birmingham-based booking agent Red Mountain Entertainment. The Cadillac Three will open the 7 p.m. show.

Winner of more Academy of Country Music Awards than any other artist, Lambert has also won three Grammys, and is the first woman to have won the Country Music Association Award for album of the year twice, for her "Revolution" in 2010, and "Platinum" in 2015.

Though she released an indie debut in 2001, it was 2003 when Lambert broke out, as one of the finalists of TV talent show "Nashville Star." The visibility helped send her major label debut disc "Kerosene" to No. 1 on Billboard country charts. That album earned platinum sales status, helped by four hit singles in "Me and Charlie Talking," "Bring Me Down," "New Strings" and the title track.

The 2007 album "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" brought her songwriting to the fore; singles "Gunpowder and Lead," "More Like Her" and "Famous in a Small Town" were either written or co-written by Lambert. Her first two No. 1 hits, "The House that Built Me," and "Heart Like Mine," were included on "Revolution."

Her other hits include "Baggage Claim," "Over You," "Fastest Girl in Town," "Mama's Broken Heart," "All Kinds of Kinds," "It All Comes Out in the Wash," "Automatic," "Bluebird" and "Settling Down."

Last year, she released the stripped-down "The Marfa Tapes," with collaborators Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, and at the end of 2021, the single "Y'all Means All," in support of the LGBTQ community. Aside from her solo work, she's also a member of the Pistol Annies trio with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

Lambert played the Amp in 2011, and then again in 2014, with each show drawing near-sellout crowds.

In a 2011 interview with The Tuscaloosa News, Lambert said "I knew from an early age what kind of music I wanted to make and that I wasn't going to change myself or my music to make other people happy. Authenticity and honesty are vital parts of my songs. I want to look back and still believe in every lyric on every record I ever make.

"...I make music that I love, and maybe that's not always music that speaks to everyone, but I feel blessed when my music does inspire fans. I've had women tell me that my songs gave them the courage to leave abusive relationships, and that is the highest compliment I can get as a songwriter."

The Cadillac Three also played the Amp in 2014, as an opening act for Jake Owen. Originally known as Cadillac Black, the trio comprises guitarist/lead singer Jaren Johnston; bass and lap steel player Kelby Ray; and drummer Neil Mason. The band's cut five studio discs, the most recent "Tabasco and Sweet Tea," and has scored three Top 40 songs in "The South," "Party Like You" and "White Lightning."

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 14, through Ticketmaster, or at the Amp box office. Prices will be $130.50, $120.50, $110.50, $100.50, $80.50, $60.50, $50.50 and $40.50, plus fees and surcharges. For more, see www.tuscaloosaamphitheater.com.
