English Dub Review: Sakugan “MEMORIES & REGRETS”

Overview:

The team visits the Calacalla Colony to get Yuri treatment. During the downtime, Gagumber runs into an old friend, and Memempu tells Zackletu about her dream…

Our Take:

Sakugan continues to impress with its characters and world-building. We got some more background information on Zackletu and honestly, there was only one thing about this episode that bugged me.

The thing that bugged me was they sure made it seem like Gagumber died saving Memempu but there he was at the end of the episode looking a little worse for wear but ultimately fine. So unless they are doing some mind trick for the rest of the season on him actually being dead or something then it was a little annoying to not get an explanation.

Other than that though, this episode was a lot of fun. I feel bad for Zackletu but endangering an innocent child isn’t the way to go about things. Even if I don’t like Memempu all that much I still don’t want to see her in that sort of situation.

This was a good episode with lots of background information that gave us some good details on Gagumber and Zackletu’s past. I hope this continues to ramp up and get better. Also, big shout out to Crunchyroll for keeping their dubs incredibly consistent.
