Britney Spears celebrates her first glass of wine in 13 years with music from Madonna

‘I’ve waited 13 years … that’s long enough !!!’

After 13 years, Britney Spears is back to enjoying life’s simplest pleasures, specifically taking part in a glass of wine. On Wednesday, the 40-year-old Pop icon took to Instagram to detail having her first glass of wine in 13 years and to explain why she enjoys dancing to Madonna’s music in her videos. Addressing a prior video, where she is dancing to Madonna’s “Nobody’s Perfect,” Brit notes, “I’m sure it looks weird me dancing to @madonna so much… I see it … it’s like I’m not trying as much like I’m INDULGING.”

Alongside an image of wildflowers she continued, “Well that’s exactly what her music does to me.”

Keeping with the theme of indulgence, the icon then went on to reveal that she was finally able to enjoy a glass of vino. “I mean I had my first glass of red wine 🍷 last weekend !!! I’ve waited 13 years … that’s long enough !!!” Brit exclaimed in her Instagram caption.

Pivoting back to her most recent dance video, Britney went on to defend her slowed-down choreography after receiving negative comments. She said, “In a world where we all have the right to speak … drive … buy alcohol … party … have cash … I apologize for INDULGING in front of the masses … and dancing a touch slower !!! I mean what was I thinking 😂?? Nobody’s perfect !!!”

She also let us know that she sees the negative remarks on her post. “Pss… Yes I read the comments and people are absolutely hateful 😒,” added Spears.

In November, shortly after the termination of her conservatorship was announced, Britney shared that she relished in her newfound freedom with a glass of champagne. She wrote, “What an amazing weekend … I felt like I was on cloud 9 the whole time ☁️ !!! I actually got my first glass of champagne 🥂 at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night !!!! I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months !!!!!!!!!!!”

She concluded, “I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!”
