It started with a plea from The Animal Foundation on social media.
"This is Toby, and he needs a hero," the non-profits Instagram page wrote on Tuesday.
"Toby is not doing well in the shelter. He circles and pants as he watches the world go by from behind his kennel door."
The 9-year-old dog was then moved into an office within the shelter, where he could spend more time with people, boosting his mood.
This, unfortunately, meant that adopters overlooked him despite his vibrant personality.
"This lovable boy is great with people," the page continued. "He’s such a simple dog - his true happiness comes from time spent with you!"

Then, on Wednesday, the shelter's Instagram page made a huge announcement.
The Animal Foundation did not share who Toby's lucky new owner was, but now it looks like the very good boy will receive endless cuddles in his new home.
