Hollywood is in mourning in the new year over the deaths of celebrities including Ray Liotta, Paul Sorvino and Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump.

Barbara Walters

Legendary journalist Barbara Walters died on Dec. 30 in New York City at age 93.
“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones,” the former “View” co-host’s rep told Page Six. “She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women.”
She is survived by daughter Jacqueline.
Sonya Eddy
June 17, 1967 – Dec. 19, 2022
“General Hospital” actress Sonya Eddy passed away in December. She was 55.
Actress Octavia Spencer announced the news on her Instagram, writing, “My friend @sonyaeddy passed away last night. The world lost another creative angel. Her legions of @generalhospitalabc fans will miss her 💔🕊️,” Spencer captioned a professional headshot of Eddy.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss

Beloved “Ellen DeGeneres Show” DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss died by suicide on Dec. 13, Page Six confirmed.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Boss, who got his start on “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2008, was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Boss was married to fellow pro dancer Allison Holker, and the pair shared three children — Weslie, Maddox and Zaia.
Ronnie Turner
Oct. 27, 1960 – Dec. 8, 2022
Tina Turner’s son Ronnie passed away at age 62 in December. Although his cause off death is not yet known, Ronnie had been battling health issues in recent years, including cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Afida, who confirmed the news in an emotional statement.
“This is a tragedy u with your brother craig and your father ike turner and aline rest in paradise 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️😭😭💔💔 so unfair,” she wrote on Instagram.
Kirstie Alley
Jan. 12, 1951 – Dec. 5, 2022
Kirstie Alley died on Dec. 5 at age 71.
Her children — son William “True” Stevenson and daughter Lillie Price Stevenson — announced the news with a statement shared via their mother’s social media accounts, saying she “passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.”
“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead,” the statement read.
Alley found fame playing Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom “Cheers” from 1987 to 1993. She went on to star in dozens of movies and television shows, including “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” “Veronica’s Closet,” “It Takes Two,” “Shoot to Kill” and “Look Who’s Talking.”
Brad William Henke

“Orange Is the New Black” star Brad William Henke passed away in his sleep at the age of 56.
While his cause of death is still unknown, Henke’s manager, Mat DelPiano, told TMZ that “Brad was an incredibly kind man of joyous energy.”
“A very talented actor, he loved being a part of this community … and we loved him back. Our thoughts are with his wife and family.”
Christine McVie
July 12, 1943 – Nov. 30, 2022
Fleetwood Mac confirmed on Nov. 30 via Twitter that co-vocalist and keyboardist Christine McVie had died.
“She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure,” the band said in part in a joint statement. “She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.”
McVie’s family also shared a statement that disclosed the musician died after a battle with a “short illness.” She was 79.
Jake Flint
1985-Nov. 28, 2022
Jake Flint, a country music singer based in Oklahoma, died in November mere hours after getting married to his wife, Brenda. He was 37.
“We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in,” she wrote on Facebook.
“People aren’t meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can’t take much more. I need him here.”
Irene Cara

Performer Irene Cara died of unknown causes at age 63 in November. She began performing as a child, appearing on television shows and playing the title character Sparkle Williams in the original 1976 musical drama “Sparkle.”
Her best-known screen role was aspiring singer and actress Coco Hernandez in the gritty 1980 film, “Fame.”
In 1984, Cara won an Oscar for co-writing the song “Flashdance…What a Feeling” for the movie “Flashdance.”
Nicki Aycox
May 26, 1975-Nov. 16, 2022
“Supernatural” actress Nicki Aycox, who played Meg Masters on the CW series, died in November at age 47. Although an official cause of death had not been shared, Aycox battled leukemia and documented her highs and lows with the disease on social media.
“My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side,” her sister-in-law, Susan Raab Ceklosky, wrote on Facebook alongside a series of photos.
“Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her

Jason David Frank

Jason David Frank, who portrayed Tommy Oliver – the original Green and White Ranger – in “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” passed away at the age of 49.
“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being,” Justine Hunt said in a statement to TMZ on Nov. 20.
“He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.”
Aaron Carter
Dec. 7, 1987- Nov. 5,2022
Aaron Carter was found dead at his home in California on Nov. 5, his rep confirmed to Page Six at the time. His housekeeper reportedly found him unconscious inside of his bathtub. He was 34 years old.
Takeoff

Migos rapper Takeoff, whose government name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was killed in a fatal shooting in the early morning of Nov. 1 at a private event at a bowling alley in Houston. He was 28.
Leslie Jordan
April 29, 1955-Oct. 24, 2022
Beloved comedian Leslie Jordan died in Hollywood on Oct. 24, his rep confirmed to Page Six. The “Will & Grace” alum was reportedly driving when he suffered a medical emergency and crashed his BMW into a building. He was 67 at the time of his death.
Zuri Craig
July 20, 1978-Oct. 21, 2022
Musician and actor Zuri Craig passed away at 44 years old on Oct. 21, 2022, according to a statement released by his family. His cause of death was not initially made known.
Craig rose to fame as a finalist on “American’s Got Talent,” which he appeared on in 2015 alongside collaborator Jeffrey Lewis as part of the Craig Lewis Band.
His first big break had come in 2009 upon the band’s being discovered by Tyler Perry, who hired the duo to work on a series of “Madea” productions including “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” “Madea Gets a Job” and “A Madea Christmas.”
Prior to his death, Craig had been gearing up to produce a live TV show, “Soul Food Live,” out of Atlanta beginning next month.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved son, brother and friend, Zuri Craig,” read his family’s statement. “We thank you in advance for your prayers. Please honor our privacy at this unimaginable time of mourning.”
Robbie Coltrane

“Harry Potter” actor Robbie Coltrane, who played Rubeus Hagrid in the beloved film series, died at age 72 on Oct. 14.
Coltrane’s agent confirmed that he died at a hospital in Scotland, but did not immediately reveal his cause of death.
Angela Lansbury

Dame Angela Lansbury died “peacefully in her sleep” on Oct. 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday, her children announced in a statement that same day.
The actress is best known for her starring role as sleuth Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She Wrote,” which ran from 1984 to 1986.
Eileen Ryan

Legendary actress Eileen Ryan died on Oct. 9 at the age of 94 in her home in Malibu, Calif., a spokesperson for the star’s famous family announced.
She would have been 95 on Oct. 16.
Additional information, including the cause and manner of her death, was not immediately available.
Ryan was mom to actors Sean Penn and Chris Penn, who died in 2006 at the age of 40, as well as musician Michael Penn.
She was also married to late actor and director Leo Penn for over four decades.
Loretta Lynn

Country music icon Loretta Lynn died on Oct. 4. She was 90.
The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer’s family revealed she “passed away peacefully” in her sleep at her “beloved ranch” in Tennessee.
The Grammy winner and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient is survived by four of her six children.
Coolio
Aug. 1, 1963 – Sept. 28, 2022
Coolio — whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr. — died on Sept. 28 at age 59 following a suspected cardiac arrest.
His longtime manager, Jarez, confirmed the news shortly after. According to him, the rapper was at a friend’s home when he suddenly collapsed. He was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Robert Cormier
June 14, 1989-Sept. 23, 2022
Robert Cormier, who played Finn Cotter on the show “Heartland,” died on Sept 23, at age 33.
“Robert was an athlete, an actor, and a great brother,” his obituary read, adding that he had “a passion for helping others and was always looking to achieve more.”
“He enjoyed movie nights with his family, and looked up greatly to his father. He impacted many people throughout his life whether it was family, teammates and friends. Rob’s memory will live on through his passion for art and film; as well as his three sisters who meant the world to him.”
Queen Elizabeth II

The royal family announced on Sept. 8 that Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” the royal family tweeted. “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The tragic announcement came hours after the family revealed that doctors were “concerned” about Elizabeth’s health and placed her “under medical supervision.”
She was the longest-running monarch in British history.
Jan Josephs

Jan Josephs, the first husband of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Margaret Josephs, died “unexpectedly” of a reported heart attack on Aug. 26 just days before his 75th birthday.
“A piece of us died with him. We are heartbroken,” Margaret announced in a Sept. 5 Instagram post.
The Bravolebrity said she and her ex “shared a beautiful conversation” the night before he passed in which they “bragged” about how “blessed” they felt to have children so “successful and happy.”
Robert LuPone

Robert LuPone, the brother of Broadway icon Patti LuPone, passed away after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Robert was well known for his career on off-Broadway as well as Broadway and even earned a name for himself for playing Tony Soprano’s next-door neighbor on the HBO hit series.
Robyn Griggs
April 30, 1973- Aug. 13, 2022
Robyn Griggs, a television and film star best known for her roles on soap operas “Another World” and “One Life To Live,” died at the age of 49 on Aug. 13.
“Hi everyone, With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing,” a post shared to her official Facebook read, confirming the news.
Griggs was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer in 2020.
Teddy Ray
July 30, 1990-Aug. 12, 2022
Teddy Ray, a rising voice on the comedy scene, died Aug. 12, just two weeks after turning 32 years old.
Ray’s death was confirmed by Comedy Central, who shared a snap of the comedian on-stage via Twitter alongside caption, “Teddy Ray was a hilarious and beloved performer. He’ll be deeply missed by the entire comedy community.”
The comic was found floating in a swimming pool and died in an apparent drowning, TMZ reported at the time.
Anne Heche
May 25, 1969-Aug. 12, 2022
Anne Heche died on Aug. 12 at age 53 after getting into a fiery car crash in LA.
“We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy,” Heche’s rep told Page Six.
Heche slipped into a coma after the crash and soon became brain dead. The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly determined that Heche was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the accident.
The actress is survived by her son, Homer Laffoon, whom she shared with ex-husband Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, and son Atlas Heche Tupper, whom she shared with her “Men in Trees” co-star, James Tupper.
Olivia Newton-John

Actress Olivia Newton-John died “peacefully” in her home on Aug. 8, her husband, John Easterling, announced on social media.
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” Easterling’s statement read, in part. “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.
Newton-John is also survived by daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
Tony Dow

“Leave It to Beaver” actor Tony Dow died on July 27 at the age of 77.
His death came a day after his wife mistakenly notified the actor’s team that he had passed while in hospice care.
A statement shared on his Facebook page read, “We have received confirmation from Christopher, Tony’s son, that Tony passed away earlier this morning, with his loving family at his side to see him through this journey.
“We know that the world is collectively saddened by the loss of this incredible man. He gave so much to us all and was loved by so many. One fan said it best—’It is rare when there is a person who is so universally loved like Tony.’”
Paul Sorvino

“Goodfellas” star Paul Sorvino died of natural causes on July 25 at the age of 83.
“Sorvino passed from natural causes and had dealt with health issues over the past few years,” his rep said in a statement to Page Six.
His wife Dee Dee was by his side when he passed away.
“Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage.” his wife said.
Shonka Dukureh

Shonka Dukureh, who portrayed Big Mama Thornton in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” biopic, died on July 21, police confirmed. She was 44.
The musician was found dead inside her bedroom in the Nashville, Tenn., apartment that she shared with her two children, according to a tweet by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
No foul play is suspected in her death.
Ivana Trump
Feb. 20, 1949 – July 14, 2022
Ivana Trump was found dead in her NYC apartment on July 14 at 73 years old. The first wife of former president Donald Trump reportedly went into cardiac arrest and medical personnel were not able to revive her when they arrived at the scene.
“She was a wonderful, beautiful and amazing woman, who led a great an inspirational life,” the former president wrote in a statement announcing his ex’s passing.
Mary Mara
September 21, 1960 – June 26, 2022
Veteran actress Mary Mara died on June 26 the age of 61 after drowning in the St. Lawrence River in New York.
New York State Police troopers responded to a call of a possible drowning that morning in the town of Cape Vincent, where she lived.
Once on the scene, police found her body — which they said showed no signs of foul play — in the water.
Mara was reportedly staying at her sister’s summer home, which fronts the river, when she decided to go for a swim.
She leaves behind an ex-husband and stepdaughter, her manager told us.
Cooper Noriega
June 28, 2002 – June 9, 2022
TikTok star Cooper Noriega was found dead in his car in a Los Angeles-area parking lot in June 2022 just hours after posting a chilling video about dying “young af.”
The 19-year-old had been open with his 1.7 million TikTok followers about his struggle with mental health issues and drug abuse.
His cause of death is still unknown.
Ray Liotta

Goodfellas” star Ray Liotta died in his sleep at age 67 on May 26, 2022 in the Dominican Republic where he was filming “Dangerous Waters.”
TMZ also reported that no one suspects foul play in the actor’s shocking death.
He is survived by fiancée Jacy Nittolo and his daughter Karsen, whom he shared with ex-wife Michelle Grace.
Kailia Posey
April 19, 2006 – May 1, 2022
“Toddlers & Tiaras” star Kailia Posey died on May 1, her mom announced on Facebook. She was 16 years old.
“I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone,” she wrote. “Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”
She did not disclose a cause of death.
Naomi Judd
Jan. 11, 1946 – April 30, 2022
Naomi Judd, one half of The Judds, one of the most successful acts in country music history, died in April at the age of 76.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” Judd’s daughters, Wynonna and Ashley, announced in a statement. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
Gilbert Gottfried

Legendary actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried died “after a long illness,” his family announced on April 12.
“In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children,” the statement read. “Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”
Gottfried was 67 at the time of his death.
Tom Parker
Aug. 4, 1988 – March 30, 2022
The Wanted singer Tom Parker died in March 2022, after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in October 2020.
“Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence,” his wife, Kelsey, posted on Instagram after announcing his passing. “We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.”
Parker also leaves behind two young children.
Taylor Hawkins
Feb. 17, 1972 – March 25, 2022
Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was found dead in a Colombian hotel on March 25 at the age of 50.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote on Twitter. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
Hawkins’ cause of death is still under investigation. There were multiple drugs found in the room where he died, according to a report out of Colombia which cited official sources.
William Hurt
March 20, 1950 – March 13, 2022
“Big Chill” actor William Hurt died on March 13, just one week shy of his 72nd birthday.
“He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes,” his son William said in a statement. “The family requests privacy at this time.”
Hurt was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2018.
Charles Criss
April 1985 – Feb. 2022
Darren Criss’ older brother Charles Criss died by suicide at the age of 36 in February 2022.
“We will never know just how long he was fighting this war within himself, but last week, it consumed him fully, and he succumbed by taking his own life,” the “Glee” alum wrote in a post to Instagram in March 2022.
He described his brother as “vibrant, special, worldly, hilarious, insightful, gifted, intelligent, celebrated and adored.”
Chris Huvane
June 29, 1974 – Feb. 6, 2022
Beloved Hollywood manager Chris Huvane died by suicide in February after a years-long battle with depression. He was 47.
“We are devastated beyond words this morning, Chris was simply ‘the best of the best,’” Management 360 partners said in a statement to Deadline Monday.
“A brilliant manager, consummate colleague and friend, a rock of our company and our culture, beloved by every single person who ever met him. It’s an incalculable loss and our hearts go out to his family and friends.
“We are all better for having known Chris, and we commit to honoring his legacy every day forward.”
Louie Anderson

Famed comedian Louie Anderson died in January after a battle with cancer, his publicist confirmed. He was 68.
The “Baskets” star passed away in Las Vegas, where he had entered hospital earlier this week for treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Meat Loaf
Sept. 27, 1947 – Jan. 20, 2022
Legendary singer Meat Loaf passed away in January at age 74 surrounded by his wife and daughters, his official Facebook page announced.
“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man,” the post read. “We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!”
André Leon Talley

Fashion legend André Leon Talley, who served as Vogue’s creative director and editor-at-large, died at age 73 after an unknown illness.
His death was confirmed by his friend Darren Walker, the president of the Ford Foundation.
“André Leon Talley was a singular force in an industry that he had to fight to be recognized in,” Mr. Walker said in a statement, calling him a “creative genius” and noting his ability to craft a persona for himself out of “a deep academic understanding of fashion and design.”
Jordan Cashmyer
May 1, 1995 – January 2022
“16 and Pregnant” alum Jordan Cashmyer tragically died at the age of 26. The former reality star, who appeared on the MTV show in 2014, died on Jan. 15.
“Last night I received a call no parent ever wants,” her mother, Jessica Cashmyer, wrote in a statement on Facebook. “My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER.”
“Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy,” the statement continued. “Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, grand daughter [sic] Lyla and family members.”
The cause of death was not immediately confirmed for Jordan, who died in Maryland, per Variety.
Clint Arlis

Former “Bachelorette” contestant Clint Arlis passed away in mid-January. He was 34.
“It is with great sadness, to tell you that my family has lost my best friend and older brother Clint on the morning of January 11th,” Arlis’ sister wrote on Facebook. “Please respect our family’s privacy as we try to cope with this great loss.”
Arlis competed for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s heart during Season 11 of the dating competition series. He was eliminated from the show in its third week.
Bob Saget

Bob Saget died on Jan. 9 at age 65. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the “Full House” actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla. His cause of death was not immediately revealed.
Sidney Poitier

Academy Award-winning actor Sidney Poitier died at the age of 94, Bahamian Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell announced on Jan. 7. His cause of death was not immediately confirmed.
Poitier was a staple in Hollywood for 71 years, appearing in iconic films including “A Raisin in the Sun” and “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” He won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in “Lilies of the Field” in 1963, and was later given an Honorary Academy Award in 2001.
Peter Bogdanovich

Filmmaker and historian Peter Bogdanovich died at age 82 on Jan. 6 from natural causes.
Bogdanovich most famously directed the 1971 drama “The Last Picture Show,” which received eight Oscar nominations. He also helmed 1973’s “Paper Moon,” 1981’s “They All Laughed” and 1985’s “Mask,” among other films.
Bogdanovich was an actor as well, appearing in “The Sopranos” and 2018’s “The Other Side of the Wind.”
Kim Mi-soo

South Korean actress Kim Mi-soo died at age 29 on Jan. 5. The cause was not immediately released.
Mi-soo was known for her role in the JTBC series “Snowdrop.” She had also started filming the Disney+ show “Sixth Sense Kiss” before her death.
Joan Copeland
June 1, 1922-Jan. 4, 2022
Broadway star Joan Copeland died at age 99 on Jan. 4.
The younger sister of playwright Arthur Miller made a name for herself with roles in the 1976 revival of “Pal Joey” her brother’s 1981 play “The American Clock.” Copeland also starred in soap operas including “Search for Tomorrow” and “One Life to Live.”

Actor Max Julien died at age 88 on Jan. 1.
Julien was best known for his role as Goldie in the 1973 film “The Mack.” He also appeared in 1970’s “Getting Straight” and 1997’s “Def Jam’s How to Be a Player” and wrote 1973’s “Cleopatra Jones.”
Dan Reeves

NFL legend Dan Reeves died at age 77 on Jan. 1 of dementia complications.
Reeves was a running back for the Dallas Cowboys from 1965 to 1972. He played in nine Super Bowls, winning in 1972 against the Miami Dolphins. Reeves went on to coach teams including the Cowboys, Denver Broncos and New York Giants before retiring in 2003.
