A judge in White Plains (N.Y) City Court on Thursday morning found former Mets acting general manager Zack Scott not guilty of driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

The verdict came more than four months after White Plains police said they found Scott asleep at the wheel and arrested him.

"I am thankful for today’s verdict," Scott said in a statement. "Nonetheless, I regret choices I made on Aug. 31, resulting in circumstances that led to my arrest.

"Thank you to my attorneys, friends, professional associates, and most importantly, my family for supporting me throughout this process."

The Mets' acting general manager, Zack Scott, took over after the club fired Jared Porter for sending unsolicited text messages to a female reporter.

Following the arrest, the Mets placed Scott on administrative leave. They cut ties with him in November as they searched for an executive to lead baseball operations.

At one point in early August, a person with knowledge of the situation said, Mets president Sandy Alderson went to owner Steve Cohen and recommended removing the "acting" tag from Scott's title.

While Cohen felt pleased at the job Scott had done to that point, and seemed fully intent on eventually making him the full-time GM, he felt the timing was not right. Weeks later, police arrested Scott.

"Professionally, I’m grateful to Sandy Alderson for the opportunity to lead baseball operations for the Mets and wish my former teammates nothing but the best going forward," Scott said. "I believe this humbling experience will make me a better husband, father, son, friend, and leader, and I look forward to what the future holds."
