Google pushes out Pixel update that fixes 911 bug, but not for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

Back in December last year, there was a rather alarming bug in which users who had Microsoft Teams installed on their phones could not dial out to 911 if they were not signed into their account. Microsoft later released a fix for the Teams app for Android.

Now according to a post on Google’s support page, the company is also pushing out a patch that will fix the issue for older Pixel handsets, but oddly enough the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not included in this list. According to Google, the latest update should “Fix for issue preventing emergency calls in certain conditions while some third-party apps are installed.”

While Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro owners are left out of this update for now, don’t worry because Google states that there are plans to eventually push out the update for its Pixel 6 phones later this month, so owners will probably have to wait a couple of weeks at most.

Prior to this, Google was in the process of rolling out an update for its Pixel phones when it was discovered that this update was causing the Pixel 6 phones to drop its calls, which might explain why Google isn’t including the Pixel 6 in this update as they are probably still working on fixing that particular issue.
