The Metropolitan Opera is set to revive Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The production by Richard Eyre will be shown six times starting Jan. 8 through 28, 2022.

Maestro Daniele Rustioni will lead the production with a cast that includes Golda Schultz in her Met role debut as Countess Almaviva and Adam Plachetka as Count Almaviva. When Plachetka first sang the role of the Count at the Met, OperaWire said he “struck a figure that was comedic while not sacrificing any of the count’s menacing qualities.”

The cast will also include Lucy Crowe as Susanna, Ryan McKinny in the title role of Figaro, Isabel Leonard as Cherubino, Elizabeth Bishop as Marcellina, Giuseppe Filianoti as Don Basilio, and Maurizio Muraro as Dr. Bartolo. Conductor Gareth Morrell leads the Jan. 28 performance.

In April, the production will return for an additional six performances. The opera, which will be presented between April 2– 21, 2022, will be conducted by James Gaffigan and will feature featuring Federica Lombardi as Countess Almaviva, Aida Garifullina as Susanna, Sasha Cooke as Cherubino, Gerald Finley as Count Almaviva, and Christian Van Horn as Figaro. Bishop, Filianoti, and Muraro will reprise their roles from the January run. Conductor Nimrod David Pfeffer will lead the April 21 performance, in his Met debut.

Additionally, Jan. 15, 2022, and April 9, 2022 performances of “Le Nozze di Figaro” will be broadcast live on Met Opera Radio on SiriusXM Channel 355 and over the Toll Brothers–Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
