Opelika entrepreneur creates new iOS food discovery app
For those who don’t ever know what they want for a dinner, a local entrepreneur has developed an app just for you. Over the last few years, Marcus Marshall, 26, of Opelika, has been busy engineering Beary Hungry, an iOS app that connects restaurant goers and restaurant owners. The new app has two functions: The first is for people who like to eat out. Beary Hungry designs a profile of its user’s taste buds and matches restaurants to that profile. The second function is for restaurant owners. The app acts as a form of advertisement where restaurants can upload menus and info about their businesses.

Auburn Police Department releases set of collectible K9 Unit trading cards
The Auburn Police Department has released a set of collectible K9 trading cards, including one card for each of the K9s and their handlers in the APD K9 Unit. The APD said local partnerships with Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Canine Performance Science (CPS), Auburn City Schools, Charter Communications and Global K9 Protection Group have contributed largely to the expansion of APD’s K9 Unit over the years.

Opelika man arrested and charged with attempted murder after shooting on Waverly Parkway
Opelika police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that allegedly occurred on Tuesday in the 2100 Block of Waverly Parkway. At 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of gun shots, and upon arrival police said they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
