The Smile, the new super-trio of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Sons Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner have released their first official single together, “You Will Never Work In Television Again.” The track was of course produced by Nigel Godrich.
The track features a more raw live rock take that has elements of that early Radiohead sound with a bit of a looser flow to it. You can sense them letting loose a bit and just letting the song come to them. It was first heard at their secret show during last year’s Glastonbury and we will get another live look soon as the band has announced that they will play three consecutive live shows in a 24-hour period at Magazine London on January 29 & 30. The shows will be performed to a live audience in the round and be broadcast in real-time via live stream.
