Jimmy Fallon said sorry to Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chance the Rapper after a hilarious mistake left them drenched and confused on That’s My Jam.

It all went down in the latest episode of the late-night host’s new music and comedy variety game show, which featured Joseph and Chance alongside Josh Groban and Alessia Cara. The two all-star teams competed against each other for charity and after several rounds, it seemed like Joseph and Chance were going to have a runaway game. That is, until the Doom Box decided to give them a rude awakening.

Joseph and Chance were in the lead with 70,000 points while Josh and Alessia had 29,000. But the last round called “Slay It Don't Spray It” had over 200,000 points up for grabs and would determine the winner. With that, the teammates began belting out the lyrics to Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” and Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” karaoke style.

As it turns out, the four participants nailed all the words, and it was a tie. So, then came down to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” to break it. Before the music started though, Chance admitted to Jimmy that he didn’t know the song. But there was no need to worry because Joseph knew the lyrics by heart. Unfortunately, the Doom Box didn’t get the memo and accidentally sprayed the duo after Joseph sang the correct words.

“That was right! No way, I was right,” Joseph said. “Yo, I had that CD when I was 12. Those are the words! ‘We’ll make it, I swear.’” (Watch the clip above at 3:40 to see their reactions.)

Hearing his outage, Jimmy tried to figure out what was happening and moments later, the host received confirmation that Joseph did, in fact, get the lyrics right. But folks watching from home couldn’t get over the comical blunder that had them in stitches.

“I can't stop laughing, Joseph celebrating and suddenly gets sprayed. 😂,” one person wrote on YouTube. “JGL fighting for his team's win at the end was so funny,” another added. “Chance chucking his own glasses out of anger 😭😭😭😭😭,” a different fan said. “I was completely confused when Joseph sang the right words but still got sprayed..for a moment I thought I had been singing the wrong words for all these years!” a follower commented.

Clearly, there was no way Joseph was letting this one slide. And by the looks of it, Jimmy was sorry for the mix-up but wasted no time in hitting replay to watch their epic reactions!
