A K-9 officer is credited with confiscating numerous types of drugs, firearms and money during separate traffic stops that resulted in the arrest of two men on Interstate 65 in southern Indiana.According to Indiana State Police, the traffic stops happened Monday on the interstate in Jackson County. Officials said the investigations led to the "discovery of multiple types of illegal drugs" that resulted in the arrest of two out-of-state individuals.The first traffic stop happened before 11 a.m. Monday on the southbound lanes of the interstate near the 50-mile marker. Investigators said a state trooper was passed by a Mercedes-Benz that was traveling near 100 mph.The trooper pulled over the driver and proceeded to deploy K-9 Jinx after the dog alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle, officials said.In the car was suspected heroin, cocaine, marijuana and two firearms.Investigators said the driver, Tony C. Jackson from Michigan, was arrested on numerous charges including possession of cocaine and possession of a narcotic drug with a firearm.Jackson was booked into the Jackson County Jail.The second traffic stop happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday when the same trooper pulled over a Toyota Corolla for a traffic infraction on the interstate near the 50-mile marker.Jinx was again deployed after alerting them to the odor of illegal drugs coming from the vehicle, officials said.During the search, troopers found suspected ecstasy, MDMA, LDS, psychedelic mushrooms, ketamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than $600.The driver, Nabeel J. Husari of Tennessee, was arrested on charges of dealing controlled substances and possession of controlled substances. He also faces additional misdemeanor counts.Husari was also booked into the Jackson County Jail.Additional details were not released about the investigations.
