Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale terroriser Meena Jutla took things one step further with her sister-turned-hostage Manpreet Sharma tonight (January 4).
In ITV's latest nail-biting scenes, the killer attempted to get Manpreet to write a suicide note in order for her imminent death to look "authentic".
However, her estranged husband Rishi soon discovered (after speaking to Manpreet's daughter Aiesha) that she's not abroad in Ibiza like Meena had initially claimed, which created some faint hope for Manpreet's survival.

Following this, Rishi and Aiesha both called Meena for an explanation, but to no avail.
Armed with a drugged bottle of water, Manpreet's twisted younger sibling tried to force her to drink it, but when Manpreet refused, Meena screamed at her and took drastic action. Instead, Meena transferred the drugged liquid into a syringe, before forcing it into Manpreet's mouth.
Will Rishi and Aiesha be able to track down poor Manpreet before it's too late?

A few weeks ago, Manpreet actress Rebecca Sarker weighed in on the war between the sisters, joking: "There's something of The Terminator about Meena. Although, I think she might have met her Sarah Connor in Manpreet.
"For her last hurrah, I'd love to see her starved of her evil oxygen," Sarker added of her hopes of Meena's comeuppance.
"She's the kind of person who wants notoriety and thrives on the terrible stuff she does. It'd be great if she was transformed into a dog-petting, flower-sniffing goodie. That'd be the most awful thing for Meena to experience."
Something tells us another explosion is coming.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
