FULTON COUNTY, Ill. – Life in prison.
That’s the sentence a judge in Fulton County gave Tuesday to Nathan Woodring.
He’s the rural Avon man who shot and killed Fulton County Sheriffs Deputy Troy Chisum when the deputy responded to Woodring’s rural Avon home in late-June of 2019. He was convicted in late-October, 2020 of First-Degree Murder.
Our news partner 25 News reports a judge okayed a recommendation that Woodring be sent to a state prison to where he can receive mental health treatment.
That goes along with a defense claim Woodring suffered from mental illness when he shot Chisum.
