Greensburg woman hurt in Monday afternoon crash

A Greensburg woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a crash on U.S. 183 in Edwards County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2008 Hyundai Sonata driven by Brandy D. Roenne, 19, of Osborne, was northbound on County Road U and disobeyed a stop sign at the U.S. 183 intersection.

Roenne’s car collided head-on with a 2017 Chevy Cruze southbound on the highway driven by Marjorie L. Schmidt, 83, of Greensburg.

Both drivers were transported from the scene of the 4:35 p.m. accident to Edwards County Medical Center, Schmidt with suspected serious injuries and Roenne with minor injuries. A child in a car seat in the Hyundai was not hurt.
