James Gunn Disappoints Fans with Latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Update

I think we can all agree that the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's crowning achievements. Of course, its success and popularity wouldn't have been possible if not for the brilliant mind of James Gunn who took a gamble on D-list Marvel characters and turned them into formidable heroes.

But you know what they say, all good things must come to an end and Gunn is apparently ending his legendary MCU stint with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is currently in production. The film doesn't come out until 2023 but some fans have been dying to see their first look at the GOTG threequel.

Assuming filming for the project has already begun, then there's a good chance that Gunn will be able to put together a little teaser to hype fans up. However, as much as we hate to burst everyone's bubbles, that's apparently not the case. In a recent Twitter exchange with a fan who asked if Marvel Studios could drop Vol. 3's official trailer this year, the director of DC's The Suicide Squad simply said that it is "nonexistent". I guess we'll have to wait another year to get that trailer.

As it stands, very little is known about GOTG Vol. 3 but with the confirmation that the project will finally mark the long-awaited debut of Adam Warlock, things are already looking great for possibly James Gunn's final Marvel project before he moves on to other things.

The MCU's third Guardians of the Galaxy film is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
