CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Food and Drug Administration has recalled two different drugs in the last week.

The first recall involves Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release tablets from Viona Pharmaceuticals. The second recall was for lots of Nitroglycerin Lingual Spray.

Metformin Hydrochloride is for patients with type 2 diabetes. The drug was recalled because batches of the drug were found to have a carcinogen known as NDMA.

However, the FDA is still urging patients who have the medication to continue taking it until they can get another form of treatment. Anyone who has it should contact their doctor immediately.

Nitroglycerin Lingual Spray provides immediate relief to patients suffering from an attack or pain stemming from coronary artery disease. Some of the spray units aren't dispensing the medication as designed.

This drug recall is for the 12g spray bottles exclusively with lot numbers 150892, 153199, and 156041. Anyone who has one of these should throw it away.
