Benson logged an assist in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
The helper was Benson's first point of the year, as he set up longtime minor-league teammate Ryan McLeod on the Oilers' lone tally. The 23-year-old Benson has added nine shots on net, 23 hits, six PIM and a minus-4 rating in 16 games this year. He's been a part-time player in the bottom six this year, often competing with Brendan Perlini and Kyle Turris for playing time.
