Updated mask policies for local school districts returning from break

OMAHA, NEB. (KPTM) —
As students and faculty return from winter break, school districts in and around Omaha are updating their mask policies as COVID-19 cases begin to rise again.

KPTM has put together a guide to mask rules for the different school districts:
- Omaha Public Schools- Masks are required for all students, staff, and visitors inside all district schools and offices.
- Westside Community Schools- Masks required for all staff and students from January 5 through January 21.
- Ralston Public Schools- Masks are required for all students and staff in all district schools. A review of the requirement will take place on January 25.
- Gretna School District- Masks are recommended for all students and staff but not required.
- Papillion- La Vista Community Schools- Masks are optional for all students and staff.
- Millard Public Schools- Masks are option for all students, staff, and visitors.
- Bennington Public Schools- Following a 4 tier system, masks are recommended but not required.
- Bellevue Public Schools- Masks are optional for all students, staff, and visitors.
- Council Bluffs Community School District- Following a 3 tier system depending on the percentage of active cases in building, masks are recommended.
- Lincoln Public Schools- Masks are required for all staff, students, and visitors.
- The University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO)- Masks are required for all indoor settings on campus with a few exceptions.
- Creighton University- Masks are required for all indoor settings on campus for the month of January. The university will reassess at a later date.
- Metropolitan Community College- Masks are required for indoor settings all on campuses.
- Midland University- Masks are required for indoor settings on campus.
