VIDEO: Cody Townsend, Nick Russell and Dan Corn Epic on Mt. Saint Elias

At this point in his journey of trying to ski all of North America’s 50 Classic Ski Descents, Cody Townsend is at the point where the remaining ones are true ass-kickers. Case in point is Alaska’s Mt. Saint Elias – a peak that rises 18,000 feet straight out of the Pacific Ocean and in theory is skiable from the summit all the way to the beach. In May of 2021, Cody teamed up with his friends to give it a go: pro snowboarder Nick Russell, IFMGA guide Dan Corn, and filmer Bjarne Salen. What unfolded was nothing short of an epic adventure that proved the mountain doesn’t care who you are. The crew turned the Fifty episode into the short film Summit Fever, chronicling the entire undertaking in breathtaking detail.
