Judge halts federal mask mandate for kids in head start, vaccine mandate for staff and volunteers

Nebraska and Iowa are among the more than two dozen states that filed the lawsuit against the mandate by the Biden Administration.

A judge has issued a preliminary injunction halting the Biden Administration from enforcing a mandate that would require masks for children in Head Start programs and require staffers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Nebraska and Iowa are among the more than two dozen states that filed the lawsuit claiming the mandate imposes "unlawful requirements of masks on toddlers and COVID-19 vaccines for staff and volunteers in Head Start Programs."The states on the lawsuit are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming and West Virginia.“Once again, the Biden Administration has attempted to utilize a federal program beyond its intended scope to mandate vaccination. That is both a violation of executive constitutional boundaries and an abuse of citizens’ constitutional rights, “ said Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson in a statement.
