Call it fashion foreshadowing.
Shortly before her Miami dinner date with Kanye West, Julia Fox stepped out in a dress made famous by the rapper’s ex, Kim Kardashian.
The “Uncut Gems” actress, 31, wore Jean Paul Gaultier’s sheer striped gown — made to fit like a second skin and transform the wearer into a walking optical illusion — to Christian Louboutin’s “LoubIllusions” party during Paris Fashion Week in late September.
Kardashian, 41, made headlines in the sexy look at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards.
Besides how the two stars styled the trippy design — Fox went for a bold pink lip, statement earrings, Louboutin pumps and peekaboo lingerie, while the Skims founder opted for gray boots and a sky-high ponytail — there are subtle differences between the duo’s dresses.
Kardashian’s nude-hued number was a vintage piece from Gaultier’s Spring 1996 runway, which the fashion house later reinterpreted in its Spring 2019 Couture collection and again for its Spring 2021 “Les Marins” line; Fox wore the most recent iteration, made in black and white.
While the brunette beauty’s “body morphing” gown originally retailed for about $554, it’s now sold out and fetching thousands on the resale market.
Lizzo, Lala Kent and Bebe Rexha have all rocked versions of Gaultier’s timeless design as well.
But Fox and Kardashian’s style similarities don’t stop there. After dining with West at Carbone Saturday night, the former headed to the beach with friends on Sunday, dressed in a black one-piece from Balenciaga — Kim and Kanye’s favorite luxury label.
And we can expect more stylish outings from Fox and West in the near future, as a source close to the actress exclusively told Page Six that the duo are dating.
“They both just got out of their former relationships, and they’ve helped each other recover immensely,” they shared. “They’re kind of kindred spirits, and it’s cool to watch.”
