AirPods Pro 2 to feature new form factor, Lossless support, and more
Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a new research note to investors ahead of the rumored launch of Apple’s new AirPods Pro 2 later this year, sharing what he expects for the new wireless earbuds.
According to Kuo, the new AirPods Pro will feature an all-new form factor as previously rumored, that is expected to see Apple remove the short stem and give the earbuds a similar design to the Beats Fit Pro, support for Lossless Audio, a new sound-emitting charging case, and more.
Expected to launch during the fourth quarter of 2022 – later than previously anticipated – Kuo claimed last year that the new AirPods Pro will bring “innovative AirPods experience[s],” which could hint at earlier rumors of the earbuds introducing new health-monitoring features, such as a small accelerometer that could potentially determine body movement or something that could help a user monitor fitness while wearing their earbuds.
