Just days after the Christmas holiday 1000’s of people lined up and set up appointments to get tested for COVID.
Most of those tests are free and the testing sites are very busy. The long lines or the next day appointments are great options for a free test but if you need a test done fast it could cost you hundreds of dollars.
Some test sites require insurance to avoid out of pocket cost and one test could cost you close to $400.
The Rapid Antigen test from GS Lab is the only one of their 3 test that is not covered under insurance and without insurance the cost is $385. The test brings results in less than 30 minutes.
With these types of testing sites even the initial cost and insurance cost are going to be in the hundreds of dollars and somebody has to pay it.
The holiday COVID testing surge has made it hard to get tested whether you wait in line for hours or schedule an appointment for the next day or even a few days later.
The same day test results can be received using an in home test kit and the cost is a lot cheaper for you and your insurance company.
If you have time to wait most big pharmacies offer free testing and some can have your with results in about an hour.
With the busy holiday season it might be hard to get an appointment.
