TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Recovery Café will be hosting their first ever sober social event to celebrate the new year.

Recover-Eve is happening at the Meeting Grounds Coffee Ministry located at the corner of Washington and 6th street. Organizers said the event is for anyone that would like to celebrate New Year’s Eve without the temptation of alcohol or drugs.

Manager of Recovery Café Lindsey Skelton said she’s excited to start the new year helping others with recovery.

“It’s just amazing to have a place to go that’s not centered around alcohol or other activates that are not conducive to recovery. And there’s so many of us that struggle especially at times of the year like this,” Skelton said.

The event starts Friday at 8 pm and will run until midnight. Anyone that attends the event is required to be 24 hours sober.
