How to watch John Madden documentary: 'All Madden' available to stream and will re-air on TV

Fox Sports aired a documentary about John Madden's life and legacy on Christmas Day, but the film has taken on new meaning after the football legend died three days later.

Madden, the Hall of Fame coach turned broadcaster whose voice became a running commentary for NFL viewers every football weekend for nearly 30 years, died Tuesday morning, the league announced. He was 85.

Fox Sports announced the network will re-air its "All Madden" documentary "in honor of the incomparable coach, broadcaster, and leader." It will air on on FS1 Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET and 10:30 p.m. ET and on FOX on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The 90-minute documentary focuses on Madden’s career and impact on generations of players and fans. It originally aired on Christmas Day and was set to release on ESPN+ and Peacock on Jan. 3, but the film's release on the streaming services was moved up in light of Madden's death.

Fox Sports’ Tom Rinaldi, the project’s executive producer and co-director, said the "ability to share (Madden's) ride has been a great joy."

“When you get to the younger generations of people that only know Madden as a game, don’t even necessarily know it’s a person. And that that name has a life behind it, and that life has multiple careers within it," Rinaldi said. 

He added, "He still permeates the game, which is an amazing tribute to his reach and all the different ways beyond football that he seeped into American popular culture.”

The documentary will air on FS1 Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET and 10:30 p.m. ET. It will air on the FOX broadcast network Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. ET.

NFL Network

"All Madden" will air Thursday on 3 p.m. ET.
