Jake Lee Forced To Vacate AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Title Through Injury

AJPW’s Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Jake Lee has been forced to vacate his title through injury.

Lee faced Ryuki Honda at AJPW’s Fan Appreciation event on December 26th. During that match, Lee suffered a fractured nasal bone, as well as a fracture of the medial wall of the left orbit. It is as a result of these injuries that Lee has been forced to vacate his belt, with him not expected to return anytime soon. You can see AJPW’s statement on the situation (in Japanese) below:

Jake Lee had been scheduled to defend his Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship against Abdullah Kobayashi on Sunday, January 2nd. This match has obviously now been cancelled. Kobayashi has commented that he will wait for his [Jake Lee’s] return.”
