Letters to the Editor — Dec. 28, 2021

The Issue: Reports that Vice President Kamala Harris has complained about her negative press coverage.

Its not the media’s fault that Vice President Kamala Harris is receiving so much negative press coverage (“Kam blames bias for poor coverage,” Dec. 24).

She was given roles, such as the border crisis, and she failed to show any evidence that she’s done anything relative to the situation.

That’s her fault, and she should be called out for it. Her assignments come from President Biden, and perhaps the White House is undercutting her, but she has not shown that she’s doing anything positive, other than to stand like a robot behind the president when he makes some kind of announcement.

Her very low poll numbers indicate that the public is not standing behind her.

Harris grumbling about how she’s “treated differently” is laughable.

Of course, as the first black female vice president, she is. But to whom much is given, much is expected, and Harris has accomplished nothing.

How’s that hunt for illegal immigration’s “root causes” going?

Meeting with perennial victim Hillary Clinton is not going to help. But then again, as Clinton once said in a different context, “what difference, at this point, does it make” for the sinking vice president?

It is more than pathetic that Harris is whining about how she is so strongly criticized for her ineptitude as vice president.

She cries that it is only because of her color and her sex. It is just the opposite. If she were a white male, the criticism would be far worse. Because she is black and female, she is being sheltered from more severe abuse.

She has not visited the southern border adequately, despite being put in charge of this crisis, and is more concerned with redecorating her office than anything else.

When asked a tough question about anything relevant, all she can do is cackle like a hen.

Kamala knows that she is not presidential material, but she must be aware that her main function now is providing Biden with the best job security of anyone in America.

It has nothing to do with her race or her gender or her media coverage.

Had Harris done her job — immediately gone to the actual border (instead of miles away), push to close the border, not ship infected and criminal illegal immigrants around the country, and send them immediately back to their country of origin — she would’ve been a hero.

Instead, we have seen incompetence, excuses, giggles and a total disregard for the hardworking American taxpayers’ money.

She has redecorated the vice president’s office and appeared on various media but has had no real accomplishments — and the American people know it.

Her once again playing the race and gender cards is an insult to all Americans.

Harris needs to look no further than her mirror when seeking the reason for her negative news coverage.

It’s not due to race or bias. In fact, if she wasn’t a woman, a person of color and a Democrat, she would be torn to shreds by the mainstream media.

They handle this empty suit with kid gloves, despite her hyena-like laugh in response to questions and her complete lack of credibility. She is so obviously beyond her abilities. She’s a pathetic representative, second only to her boss.

How disingenuous for Harris to whine about the “bias” of the press. She wouldn’t have been given the job in the first place if she were a white male, like her 48 predecessors.

She certainly didn’t earn it through any demonstrated competence — just ask the border patrol.

What a sniveling insult to all the black women who have done so much for us, against much greater prejudice than she could ever imagine.
