The Red Wings reassigned Renouf to the taxi squad Monday.
The 27-year-old was demoted to AHL Grand Rapids on Dec. 19 after playing three early-December games. Renouf could get more NHL opportunities if any of Detroit's defensemen enter COVID-19 protocol.
