MARENISCO TOWNSHIP, MI— A shooting in Gogebic County on Christmas Eve claimed the life of one person.
Sheriff’s officials responded to a cabin in Marenisco Township around 1:15 a.m. on a report of a shooting involving two victims. Deputies and Michigan State Police troopers entered the cabin and arrested the suspect without incident.
One person is being treated for a gunshot wound at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital. A second gunshot victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect remains lodged in the Gogebic County Jail.
The Michigan State Police Crime Lab is assisting in the investigation.
