Liberal media’s social arson on Kim Potter

The liberal media have spent the last two years cheering unrest in our streets, feeding racial animosity and encouraging division, so it’s no surprise how they reacted to the case of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Police Officer Kim Potter and Daunte Wright.

Potter was trying to arrest Wright on an outstanding warrant for weapons possession and his part in an alleged armed robbery.

The career criminal resisted, tried to drive away, and Potter made a fatal error — she fired her gun instead of her Taser.

It’s a horrible case. The jury heard the circumstances and rendered its verdict — manslaughter. By her testimony on the stand, Potter will never forgive herself for what happened.

But that’s not good enough for the talking heads of MSNBC and the writers of the American press. Potter is white and Wright is black, so what happened must be racially motivated, must be an injustice that puts the entire nation on trial. It has to be an excuse to rip up our criminal-justice system. And they have. Warrants are ignored, bail is suspended. Better criminals victimize more people than have something go wrong while they are resisting arrest.

Despite the propaganda, cases like Potter and Wright are not the norm. And tragic mistakes cannot be a justification for making America unsafe.

The protesters and pundits light the match with satisfaction — they are not the ones affected when everything burns.
